Decision making

It is better to sleep on things beforehand than lie awake about them afterwards. ~Baltasar Gracian

This is a quote from a guy who died in 1658. It has since been validated in many studies that we actually process information when we sleep. Funny how science is catching up with wisdom from centuries ago.

So, when I have a major decision to make, I will discuss it with my inner circle (either my close friends or my leadership team if it's a work decision), write down the major factors, and sometimes make a written pros and cons list--and then I literally sleep on it and do a second round in the morning to see if it still makes sense.

 What's your big decision process?

Who do you talk to? What questions do you ask them?

Do you list pros and cons? Or do you look for something strong enough to make it a clear yes or no?
