Be courageous and just try!
I'm a strategist. People bring me in all year long to help them come up with new ideas and map out the path forward. I love my job, and I think I get better at it every year. But can I confess something?
I start every engagement by learning what they have been doing and listening to their current thinking--and they usually already have some great ideas. I try really hard to add good ideas to the conversation, but many times I also help people have the confidence to do what they already want to do.
The limiting factor in our lives is usually our courage, not our ideas.
Yes, as you make plans, there are some creative options you should consider (and things you should avoid). But we can overthink it. You might already know what you need to do.
You just need to give it a try.
Run an experiment. Take the first step and see what happens. Make a sloppy version. Pilot test it with a small group. You can do this.
